Winter definitely seems to have set in here in the UK with lots of stormy weather, so I have been taking the time to work on some new ideas and make some new prototypes for casting in the new year. Until then I have also really enjoyed working with all the minerals that I have collected during the summer. I love the uncut points and prisms of the amethyst and quartz, and they lend themselves to being simple and minimal to show off their natural shape the best.

I have also made a batch of simple disc necklaces that can be stamped with an initial. I like jewellery that you can wear all the time and it sort of becomes part of you. Not only could it be your own initial, but also perhaps in memory of someone, or to celebrate your children, what ever it means to you. They look nice worn together as well.

We are all under lockdown here until early december (hopefully no longer than that) but it will be business as usual at Only Through Shadows. I feel so utterly devastated for all the shops, cafes, businesses and creative industries that will suffer even more during this prime season of the year. I’m grateful that my small business will be mainly unaffected, grateful also for the invention of the internet! Apart from possibly some delays in the postal system, I aim to be able to fulfil all my orders as usual.
